The Place of the Cultural Atom in Family Systems

The Psychodrama Seminars

Seminar 2: Friday Evening, 15 March from 7.30-10.30 p.m:- Family Systems with Sue Daniel

Whilst the formal development of Family Therapy is sometimes stated as dating from the 1940’s Jacob Moreno, the Father of Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy discovered the seeds in Vienna in 1910, established the ground, also in Vienna, in 1922, and further expanded the method and systemic (sociometric) system in the USA from 1937 onward. This seminar looks at family systems and family therapy through the lens of sociometry, sociodrama and psychodrama within a specific historical perspective. We will look at family systems using the social and cultural atom, and role theory.
